Artificial Intelligence machines – those being able to carry out tasks in a way that we would consider “smart” – now decipher unstructured text analytics in almost real time. They give us directions, make predictions on our purchase preferences, and they even talks to us.
This begs the question: Has AI in demand planning reached a tipping point? Some say there is an arms race to leverage machine learning and AI in demand planning solutions in new, more effective ways.
Last year the IBF forecasting conducted its own research. They asked demand planning and forecasting professionals how they saw their roles in 2025. Of the 200 surveyed, nearly 70% said they believe AI in demand planning is the future!
