Earlier this week, we touched on the importance of IIOT (Industrial Internet of Things) technology within the supply chain. But not everyone's convinced. At least, not yet, and at least not until some stronger standards are put into place. IIOT integration across manufacturing systems was a decades-long struggle because of continued systems evolution and quickly incompatible platforms. On the flip side, the device side of the equation, widespread adoption of internet protocols to the point of ubiquity is a major step in the right direction for communication and compatibility. It all boils down to IIOT standards that will allow cross-system compatibility. .
