Bill Joiner claims there are five types of leaders; experts, achievers, and catalyst leaders. Experts have passion for what they do and problem solving skills but tend to not seek feedback from their employees enough. Achievers are typically more collaborative and catalyst leaders have a great vision and tend to be agile. All kinds of leaders can benefit from encouraging a growth mindset. Manufacturing today defined growth mindset as, “Growth mindset people see improvement as a goal, and welcome the guidance and direction that frequent feedback provides. They are likely to be more focused on their tasks and less distracted by the need for comparison to others.” So, no matter what leadership style you have try implementing some techniques that allow your employees to give you important feedback!
